The female body is one of my greatest sources of inspiration.  I have not only been fascinated by the raw form of the female body, but by our perceptions of that form and how those perceptions have changed throughout history and culture.  Clothing reflects these perceptions and accentuates how we wish to perceive the female body. 

How we clothe ourselves is a reflection of how we see ourselves and how we wish others saw us.  Clothing can either be a straight jacket or what sets us free from society's perceptions.  Either way it is an expression of that perception and feeling.  Clothing can become both a symbol and a uniform and is more than just the garment we put on to cover our bodies.  It is also how we shape our bodies over a lifetime, through exercise (or the lack thereof) to undergarments.

My name is Alice M. Unger.  I will not change it.  It has been my name since I was born and it will be my name my whole life.  It is not necessary to have the same name to be a family.  My name is Alice M. Unger.  I will not lose the history of who I am just because I am getting married.  I will not lose my identity to another just because it is tradition.  A name change does not signify how much I love, or how well our marriage will work.  My name is Alice M. Unger.  There is power in a name, I will not reinvest in a new name.  I want to be recognized for who I am, and who I have been.  It is the name I've grown up with and into.  I will not give it up.  My name is Alice M.
